You Might be Wasting Money on Marketing

It’s no secret – as your own business you have to spend money to make money. So you spend money on marketing to gain business and close transactions to collect commissions, right? While this makes perfect sense and there are plenty of ways to spend money on marketing, you might be wasting your money if you don’t know which ones are actually working.

Being able to track the return on investment (ROI) of marketing efforts, is consistently cited as one of the top challenges for business owners.

So if you don’t have this completely dialed in, don’t stress, because you are not alone. Truthfully, tracking marketing ROI is not a perfect science, but there are measures that you can take to at least cut out 90% of the guessing game.

For example, let’s say you choose to focus on 3 areas of marketing: Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, and direct mailers. Using Facebook’s Ads Manager you are able to gain simple metrics like; how many people see your ad (Reach), how many people like it, and how many people actually click on it.

But here’s where that falls off – what you don’t know is how many of those people actually turn into leads. According to the National Association of Realtors, 56% of buyers 36 years old and younger found their homes online.

There’s a popular saying in the Marketing community, “Never start a marketing campaign without a dedicated landing page,” or NSMCWDLP (obviously).

Because more than just knowing how many people click on your ad, a dedicated landing page will then tell you how many people made it from the ad, to landing page, and then turned into a lead.

With Cloud Attract, you can create unlimited landing pages to use for every single piece of marketing you do. Back to our example, you can create a “dedicated landing page” for every Facebook Ad, every Instagram Ad, and every direct mail campaign you do.

Each Cloud Attract landing page will tell you the number of unique visits and conversions it gets.

So for example, if your goal is to generate leads and you spend $100 on a Facebook Ad and get 10 leads – each lead cost you $10.

And there you have it! With Cloud Attract landing page metrics you are able to quit the guessing game, and finally know which of your marketing efforts is working for you. Get Cloud Attract FREE for 30 days and stop wasting money on underperforming marketing.

  1. On the topic of agents wasting marketing dollars: I have seen many agents waste even more money on ad’s and messaging that targets other real estate professionals and not the potential home buyers. Or simply one of the most common ways to blow a a campaign is having inconsistent branding. Even worse are the agents who have no branding and spend thousands of dollars advertising for their brokerage.
